Health Camp for Balwadi and Study Centre Children
A Health Camp comprising of a Medical and Dental checkup was arranged in August 2014 for the Study Centre and Balwadi children. Dr. Laja Nagpal conducted three Medical Camps, two for the Study Centre children and one for the Balwadi. She complimented the children on their good grooming and good manners. There was a high level of hygiene; children were all freshly bathed with clean nails, oiled and combed hair. First of all, the height and weight of the child was checked to see if they are growing well. A thorough physical examination was conducted and recorded in the child’s health form. When necessary the child was referred to other doctors for treatment. Balwadi children were accompanied by a parent/adult and in spite of being a very rainy day there was high attendance and 21 children were present. “Eat right, be bright”, said Dr. Nagpal as she shared practical tips on how to up the nutrition quotient of the children’s snacks/meals with parents and with us. Jaggery, channa, beetroot, spinach, peanuts are some simple dietary additions that will greatly benefit the children. In all 85 children were checked by Dr. Nagpal and given a de-worming treatment.
