The Scholarship Awards function was held on February 4, 2014.
Dr. Kavita Laghate, Director, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, was the
Chief Guest and presented the scholarships to a total of 129 students, most present, some away for examinations.
In her speech, Dr. Laghate urged the award winners to continue with their studies with
grit and determination and plan their course of action well in advance so as to be assured of a successful future.
Scholarships were awarded for a vast range of subjects - Ph. D, M.Sc., C.A., C.S., MCA, L.L.B., M.B.B.S., M.Pharm. and B.Pharm., Microbiology, all fields of engineering - Civil, Electrical,Electronics, Chemical, Mechanical, Textile technology and also for various career-oriented, diploma courses like Nursing, Library Science, Creche Teachers training and others.
Candidates were selected, as always, on a need-cum-merit criteria. With these awards,
the WGU is actively furthering its goal of womens empowerment. |
