Study Centre – Workshop by Padmashri Astad Deboo - 2011
On November 28, twenty-five students of the Study Centre along with the teachers were invited by the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) to the Tata theatre to participate in a workshop conducted by Padmashri Astad Deboo and his students. This was a special performance only for children to introduce them to dance. It was a unique opportunity for them to interact face to face with Astad Deboo, a name synonymous with contemporary Indian dance, a style that he pioneered at a time when innovation in Indian dance was not easily accepted.

The children witnessed a wonderful performance of contemporary dance form when students from the lower strata of society belonging to the ‘Salaam Bombay Trust’ accompanied Astad Deboo in the performances.

There was a question and answer session when the students were given an opportunity to interact with the dance maestro.
